Like some cruel joke, looking at the local craigslist i see 2 basses...

1... a Gibson RD Standard... one of my top lusted after basses of all time!

2... a Ric 4001 in the EXACT color-combo i've always wanted!!

Well, both are way above my price limit, but i hope that someone that will play the crap out of them (LOOKIN AT YOU LOCAL DOOM GUYS) will snatch them up!!

I'm not affiliated with the seller, but passed them along the info to TalkBass...

That RD makes me lusty as well. I have two RD Artists. These basses are sex. If I had the cash I would totally snatch that baby up right away. I'd hot rod it with traditional VVTT controls and 3-way switch too, and a sweet new sunburst (silverburst?) finish!

Damn it all, I hate that I don't have money.

Is Zak selling off some gear or what? I thought he had an RD at one point.

Nice basses, but also too rich for my blood. I had a sell several to pay a tax bill that I was not expecting

Don't know about the RD, but the 4001 is overpriced.

It is in remarkably good shape for the year and finish, most white 4001s I've seen tend to get pretty "relic'd" for some reason, but still it's overpriced.

1975 is not a particularly special year for any reason, so it's just another mid 1970s 4001.
