Well when I met him to look at it, it was in pristine condition. Apparently his ex-wife played this one summer for about 6 gigs and it's been in the case ever since. The paint doesn't have one ding, scratch or otherwise, and the screwheads are just starting to get a tad of rust but the tuners, preamp, neck, frets, etc are in incredible shape.
Not bad for only $800.
The fretboard is now soaking in some baby oil...

It came from North Windham, CT - I just did a search for "Kubicki Bass" on allofcraigs.com on a whim.

Man, I came away really impressed with it's playability and tone. I think he was running an SWR Goliath rig at the time. That partially influenced me to get a G III five years later.
I've kept my eyes peeled for a Kubicki since, but haven't found one in the price range I'm willing to spend. (It would have to be a similar bargain as this one) Congrats!!

It was listed on December 31st and I have sent him emails every day trying to get it. It was a beautiful blueburst Kubicki.... Hahahaha I have even contacted Phil K himself to let me know if anyone sends him a bass that is looking to sell it. He told me that he actually has one Ex-Factor 18v in yellow that he never sold. He wants $3400.00 for it... A little outta my budget! But congratulations on the new Factor... I will get one some day!
