Not bad for only $800. | crazy find / crazy price / crazy awesome instrument (a pre FCS 18V 5-way switch Factor I suspect) - I've had a few Factors (one was a very used black '86 bought in '93 for about the same price) and regardless of condition you absolutely can't go wrong w/them - rock on! Kubicki's rule. |

It is one of my basses that I'll never sell, bought new in 1986.

Congrats on a great score... |

BTW. | Many reasons really - If you call Kubicki Guitars, Phil answers the phone - and he will take time to talk w/you. He's one of those guys who is part of modern electric bass history. (google him and see) His design, although it seems not for everyone, is a classic contemporary design which like all great designs looks exactly the same as the first one he made. (think Fender J) Every part on it is designed and made by Kubicki, and it plays and sounds great! He was an early active pre-amp (his design) user and addressed headless w/a drop-D capo which allows seamless use of a low D. (no need to transcribe on the fly) And his Factors are made completely in the US and are of a high quality. They are also pretty bulletproof/take a lot of abuse. Hard not to become a bit cultish once you've owned one. |
