Craigslist VM P Bass score

Sign in to disble this ad
Been looking to pick up a VM P bass for a while now. I saw a listing for a Squier P Bass with hardshell case for $150 in my local CL. It was hard to tell from the pictures, but I was almost certain it was a VM P Bass. I showed up tonight and it was indeed a VM P Bass in great shape along with a really nice molded Fender hardshell case. I ended up walking away with both for $100. $50 for a VM P Bass and $50 for a Fender hardshell case ain't bad at all! Time to mod this thing!

I just left the slab side, came back here and scratched my head. Methinks you are on the DB side

Damn it, you're right! Being overly excited leads to foolish mistakes. Can a mod please move this thread over to the slab/basses forum? Thanks!

I forgot to take pictures this morning and already tore the bass down for modding.

Here's what's planned:

Gold anodized pickguard from a '57 reissue (ordered)
White Dimarzio DP127 Split P pickups (ordered)
Chrome BadAss II slotted bridge (still looking for one)

I think the white body, gold pickguard, and white pickups will really make this bass look beautiful. Not to mention the sound/tone improvement! In total, I should be into this bass for no more than $200 after all mods are complete. Can't help but to smile about that!
