What are some crazy woods that would look cool on a bass that no one else has?

Bamboo basses do exist.
I've seen coconut tops on guitars but never on bass.
It IS a crazy wood and it's even worse if you cut across the fiber.

The lead singer/guitarist in a long ago band I was in had an axe made of cyprus wood. One of those twisted, knarled up trees you think of in a creepy foggy swamp where witches live. It was a cross-cut slab with the bark still around the sides and it happened to be in the general shape of a guitar body. One of the coolest I've seen and certainly one of a kind.

Sorry, no pics.
