Ok so ive got a TON of store credit at the local shop here, and i really like the fender bronco. Ive conciderd getting that, and either A) putting a dimarzio split P in it, or B) a duncan 1/4 lb single coil. however im not thrilled with the bridge being that its not seperated by strings (only 2 saddles) but a normal bridge is too wide for the skinny neck.

Does anyone have ideas on what to do with the bridge? and could someone shoot me a link to a TB review on the pups? i cant seem to find them :/ ive read the harmony central, but i allways read atleast 3 reviews from each source and 3 sources to be safe

We're talking Squier, right? The bridge thing isn't a huge deal. I like the quirky looking stock one and have no issues with intonation or string height. You're going to need to further route the cavity to fit a normal P Bass or J bass pickup. A QP single coil could be cool. I dropped a guitar neck humbucker into mine and it sounds huge.

The DiMazrio split P (DP127) is a lot like running a bass through an Ampeg. It has a lot of high end roll off, deep lows (boomy through an Ampeg) but will make a thin bass sound phat. Only it and a J Worrell Short P pickup have ever made my Highway 1 sound so big. The neo gives all of that low end with top end clarity though, so I haven't looked back. If you want old school, jump on it though. (PM me if you want a barely used one.)

yeah i planed on routing it, ive reciently read alot about guitar neck pups in bass's, if i put say a SC strat in the current hole, and possibly a split p near the bridge?

by the way this is my first mod bass, and im not 100% im going to start it yet, but i really dig the lightweight and short neck

Bridge:

2nd line from the bottom is a Musicmaster Bass bridge. 4 saddles. It is a through body bridge though so you either have to modify the body or the bridge.
