Hahahah I agree.
My thought is: why FLAMES? They could put any sort of design on it - or just left it gold. But why oh why must it be flames?

no, it's very far from being "JUST" a frankenbass! it may be a frankenbass, but it takes the concept way out there beyond, say, ordering a MIM body off of ebay, and sticking an old neck on that you have had kicking around, and then finding a bridge somewhere......etc.

take it from me, I know frankenbasses.

anyway, what is the story on this "Status" neck they talk about from england. anybody know anything about them. how do they compare with Moses necks? just curious.

I would own that bass in a second. Just not at that price.

This bass is an object lesson to those who think that refinishing a bass will raise the value.

It would look great if you were playing in a 1970's disco band.

oh, and by the way, before we get too hung up on this "lowering the value" thing, just a question. what was it worth when they started down this road. there are precisions and then there are precisions.

just asking.

altgrendel- well i figured that they aren't cheap since the ad said this one cost 500.00. i just wanted the 411 on them. for example, how do they compare with Moses necks etc.

I like it but why did why the hell did they start off with a Frank Bello body and then put all that money into it? They should have started with a nice body from Warmoth with high quality wood and then went to town.

whats wrong with the frank bello body? its a quality fender body. besides. it just sounds like the guy didnt want to have to any cutting so the back routed body was they way to go.

I dig it... though flame paintjobs (on anything) always remind me of that South Park episode about the *people* ruining everybody's day by riding around on their loud harley.

Yeah... The Bello is kinda a badass bass if you've never played it, also is Alder body which isn't crappy. My first thought was that they killed the vibe by taking out the SDs and putting in Barts.

The question you should be asking is "How much money are they into this thing vs. what they'll end up actually getting for it". That is, of course, assuming Mr. Iron Cross doesn't put this in his own personal collection
