custom painted bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
hey guys, i'm not a big fan of my ibanez gsr200, and its not worth much, so i wanted to paint it, not a solid color, but like an actual painting... my plan so far is to chemicaly strip the original black finish, then sand the remaining nonsense off of the bass, then prime it and paint it with oil paints... if i do that, will the oil paints last? should i seal it with some sort of spray? please help. (i've looked through the acrhives and havn't found anything specific to what i'm looking for.)
thanks,
Bryan

for the sake of protecting it I would seal it.. make sure you use an oil based sealant as water based and oil based don't mix well
