Danelectro 56 Single Cutaway Dolphin Head bass

Sometimes I surf the net looking for Danelectro news. On Fort Madison Guitars I found this
If you look at the bottom right you will see a "new" Danelectro bass in black and aqua.
That's the first time Danelectro reissues Silvertone's dolphin headstock bass. Well, they didn't make a real reissue, originals one had only one pickup and two controls, but I am pretty sure someone will like them.

The white guitar looks very wedding singer. I kind of like it. The basses... I don't like so much.

I don't know if they already have those guitars, I think they will be available in a few months. You're lucky to live near Fort Madison, with all those Danelectros it seems a heaven for me (even if I think it's the only place were someone will ask you a thousand dollars for a '90s longhorn reissue).

I talked to the owner at Fort Madison Guitars...He said he'll give 50 bucks off on pre-orders for the new Danos if you mention this thread!

Benched yet another new one yesterday and I just couldn't believe it. There are just so many problems with them.

No problems with my original Silvertone/Dano Dolphin-Nose so I guess I'll pass on these.

I have one of these basses. Single pickup, guitar size tuners. They even brought back the bridge. Its ..er..ahh...different!

Labella is now making strings for these basses. I've used this as a "Tic Tak" bass, using Baritone guitar strings and such. It hasn't got a very wide string spacing at all and it's got a very flat radius. Mine weighs nothing
