Dano Longhorn and Harmony H22 - sharp edge solutions?

I have both these basses and love them but the non contour hard edges are hard on my arms as I play resting my arm on the edge of the bass. Have thought about a banjo arm rest or some sort of wood arm rest to soften the sharp edge - anybody have a solution for non contoured basses?

Reverend did use a banjo style rest on their earlier versions...could be worth looking into.
