Dating a Peavey Foundation

Hey All!

I was in a second-hand shop this morning and I came across a black n maple Foundation. I was not able to jot down the serial # (which would have made this WAY easier).
The bass had Super Ferrite pickups and the headstock had the later "softer" contours instead of the older sharper-edged headstock you would find on a T-40/T-20.

It had a couple of very significant chips out of the finish and it was pretty dull in places but I noodled on it briefly-the neck seemed fine-VERY slim and Jazz-like. I was also surprised at how lightweight it felt.
The place was too busy for me to plug it in but acoustically it seemed fine. Besides the finish, the only other cosmetic flaw I noticed was that the screws for the pickup surrounds were rusty. But curiously, I didnt notice rust on any other metal components.

They're asking $155 and I do not know if there is a case/gigbag included.

I'm picking up a T-20 in a couple of weeks but I'm thinking about putting this one on layaway.

Is this a decent deal?

Early 90s.. (guessing from description)....This was the most produced combo.

$150 is low average of the value.

Are you aware that only supporting members are supposed to discuss money?

Man up and join up --- it's only like $20/year...

I would never date a Peavey again.

I'm going on a date with a Foundation, and I wonder what to expect. I'll bring flowers and candy, but......

I wonder how old she is. I notice some Foundations have a more squared-off body and others have a sort of beveled body. I also wonder if their serial number offers any hints. I'm told the older girls can really go DOWN. <wink>

Early 90's transition. Block logo. Pre VFL. Sweet basses.

I don't get it. What is VFL? What is block logo? What do I look for? This bass seems to have the super ferrite pups, and a more beveled body than some others I have seen.
