Maybe the placebo effect is really strong for him and he's enjoyed playing a $3500 bass, and he can pass that joy on to the next idiot. On the other hand, if he bought it for the $149 or whatever these things typically sell for, I really wonder if this constitutes fraud that should be reported to eBay?
