Dingwall Combustion Vs Fender American P Bass

I have a Japanese Made Fender P Bass and am looking to upgrade. I recently stumbled across Sheldon Dingwall's Combustion bass guitar. It is a fanned fret design. I was wondering if anyone knows much about Dingwall bass guitars and if they are better than a fender P Bass.

Dingwalls are great instruments, made with high attention to detail. They make around 300 basses a year, compared with Fender, who make god-only-knows how many.

However, it's all down to personal opinion, and ultimately, what you want out of your instrument.

Those guys (particularly Grand Wazoo and Blues Cat) know WAY more than me about Dingwalls!

Phil.
