I was able to get all the materials at home depot for about 20 dollars. If any of you are interested on building your own, these are the materials I picked up:
Wood (obviously) 2ft x 4ft - $12
Hinge - $2.50
Chain and hooks - $2.25
Small can of wood stain -$3.50
Please don't diss the carpentry work :0) I am a complete noob when it comes to wood work. Luckily all I needed was a jigsaw

| | Pay the cost to be the boss. | | | | | Do you have anything on the "legs" to stop it from scratching your bass? If not, you could always get some foam insulation (the kind that is sticky on one side).

That was the main thing that made me a bit meh about the stand. Is the neck rest concave to help hold neck from sliding to the sides?

Great work, thank's for sharing.
A few pointers from experience though. Quote:

Better to use a locking hinge intended for keeping the lids of trunks, cases, etc. open. Most hardware stores carry them, and shouldn't cost more than a few $. Quote:

Not all plastics are compatible with eachother, using an incorrect combination will lead to very disapointing discoveries. Quote:

I don't know how long the bottom hat to b in order to support my bass from tipping over backwards. Can you help me out. I'd like the front of mine to be and inch or two shorter than yours, mbut the back to be equally as long if it works well for you. How long should I make the base? |

Looks good!
