These are not interchangeable terms; they distinguish between fretted and fretless applications, when discussing various woods, radii, finishing options, etc. |

So the violin family and fretless guitars have fingerboards while fretted guitars and viola de gambas have fretboards. Since the poll does not offer the correct answer as an option, I did not vote.
Now as is fairly common my fretless Jazz has lines so I guess it really has a lineboard....
