The other option was solid paint. I had a Blue Burst L2500 and The nicest part about it was the natural wood "Binding". Binding in quotes because it wasn't actually binding but the edge left natural.
Blue Burst is like a fad and faded really quick for me. I loved it at first and now I don't like. Just like Gold finished hardware.
