I don't know about elegant, but I'd call it gorgeous like a woman with a thin waist and healthy round yet perky breasts. So I guess the answer is yes. I'm a fan of blueburst.

I have a 1992, G&L L2000, blueburst, maple board, Leo Fender signature model. I think it's beautiful and have received many positive comments on it's looks when I played it at gigs.

Looks exactly like the previous posted pics. I can't show it because I have passed it down to my bass playing son and don't have any pics.

Totally. If I got a G&L it would be exactly that.. or that's what I thought till I found they made it green/turquoise!

I like the blueburst!!! Albeit, the lighting has to be good for the color to really come out!

* edit - exactly like this. In fact, if I didn't know better, I'd say this was the very guitar:

I don't know about elegant on a G&L either. My L2500s are more like workhorse basses than some elegant coffee table top. But given that I've got TWO blueburst L2500s (fretted and fretless) I'm pretty sure that puts me in the liking thin waist and perky breasts category!

I think that finish was called "Blue Pearl". Don't hold me to that though. Fender actually offered a "Blueburst" finish on their Stratocaster Plus series in the early to mid-1990's. I owned one at the time and absolutely loved the look, feel and sound of that guitar. I did hate the "Red Lace Sensor" though. Here are some pictures of the 1990's Fender Blueburst with a rosewood fretboard. Damn, I need to get me a L-2500 in Blueburst.

I Represent all the anti Blueburst remarks. I have a Deluxe Blueburst, and I love it. The color is the reason I bought the bass. I wouldn't say it's Elegant, but it does have classy look to me.

I like my blueburst L2K pretty much, I think it perfectly compliments a maple fingerboard and chrome hardware. With rosewood FBs I'd prefer warmer colors and black hardware, though. Wish my natural L2500 had black hardware.

Current L2500 models I find somewhat "unelegant" because of the 3+2 headstock, but the L2K/L2500 body shape is quite elegant in my view.

EDIT : Pics over in the G&L Club thread, a few days back.
