Someone once told this guy he was crazy for modding a vintage Tele in a similar fashion:

I like it ... except I would reverse the p-pickup.

I went to Bass pro shop and to my surprise they didn't have a single bass guitar.

If I had the $600 I'd jump on that like a dog on a bone. Have always wanted to do J-P-J !

Get it, price looks good, mods look well done, everything appears to be well placed and clean looking.

Probably a great score!!!

What's not to love on that!? It's exactly what I'd want in a J.

The included preamp is a bonus, but why did he remove it after rerouting the body and refinishing the back? And how is it wired now - three volume pots, or what? - Still, at that price I'd buy it outright, no questions asked. The P pup is nicely installed, though in an unusual place.

Yes... go for it... looks fantastic.

Get a fretless neck or a defret.

That is a good deal. Even if you don't like it (i do!) you probably could part it out and easily recoup your investment.

Good Luck!

EDIT: yeah, Cliff,... still don't know if i really want it! after we try out the Synapse, i'll hopefully get to play it. it looks like it could be a "Dub Monster"!

It needs 3 mini toggles as on/off switches for the pups. I like it, a lot.

Good lord. I would buy it, replace the D tuner with a normal one, and play the crap out of it. Jack Casady and Stu Hamm come to mind.
