Do you prefer a chunky or slim neck?

When I play my Lakland or Geddy, I think, "I love this fast neck".

Then, when I play my P or Spector, I think, "My left hand seriously missed a big chunk of wood".

So, I have no preference. What's yours?

I like slimmer necks. My Hondo II has the slimmest neck of all the basses I own, and it feels the most comfortable. I can play it for hours without any cramping. My bronze series Warlock's neck feels too chunky and really hurts to play even after 15 minutes. My neck through NJ series Warlock is slightly thicker than the Hondo's and it's comfortable, but still cramps every now and then around the hour and half mark.

wide and flat for me. Plenty of width across the board and as little front to back thickness as possible.

I always thought I was a slim neck person because I have small hands and I like to play technical music, but P necks are a lot more comfortable to me.

Slim necks for me. Jazz, T-Bird, Soundgear ... those fit my hand. I've given up on 5-strings, just didn't work (ergonomically).

For basses, as thin as possible.
For guitars, thin, but not too thin. Those Wizard contour Ibanezes are ridiculous.

I loves me a nice, chunky P neck. I have a CIJ P and it's okay, but the Classic 50s is near-perfect.

But I also have an MIM Fender Deluxe Zone, which has a super-skinny Jazz neck, and whenever I play that one, it just feels like I'm home.

Slim, à la Lakland. I had a really nice Stingray 5. I had to get rid of it. I called it "the club."

Funny enough the most comfortable neck out of the four basses I own (Fender MIA Jazz, Squier VM J + VM P, and SX P) belongs to the SX P, wide, thick, AND flat (15 3/4" radius). Go figure.

Slim, but I can adapt to just about anything if the tone is there and the bass is sexy.

Slim necks with vintage frets for me.

Saying that, i love a 5 string. Must be the string spacing.
