I've had an MTD Z4 fretless and though I loved it, it was too big for my hands-as was the fretless Jazz Bass before it. I like the way the Ibanez SR basses play but their low end fretless basses are "junk"(sorry Ibanez). But Ibanez high end fretted basses are just about right for my hands and Iand I like how they play and sound, and I suppose that I could de-fret one,(I don't have a clue how though) but I'd rather have a dedicated fretless bass-not that that makes any sense-I know Jaco yanked the frets out of his fretted J bass !! Anyway I read that the Sandberg Thinline Custom bass may have a thin neck-but I could not find the exact specs on the neck, nor could I find out if it comes in a 4 string model which I would want,or how to contact them. Any other thing necked basses of the 4-string variety that anyone can think of would be appreciated. thanks and Peace...DAcat

| | | | I didn't know there were basses with less than 1.5" nut widths... Shows how much I know haha. That string spacing would kill me. I can't slap on this OLP I'm borrowing right now cuz the string spacing is two tight for my MONSTA hands... |

It felt really good! Very thin neck. The Delano pickup delivers a very defined and precise tone. I loved it. |

| | | | I owned one. 5 string. Awesome fretless bass. One of the 5 best sounding I've played, but of them all, this was probably the most comfortable to play on. Versatile sounds. |

I'm not sure what 'thinline' refers to with this bass. Also, it had an untreated rosewood board that already had teeth marks from the strings even though it hadn't left the shop yet. |

| | | | I wasn't comparing to typical fretted basses - I was comparing to the best sounding fretless basses I'd owned - an F Bass Alain Caron 6, a Turner Renaissance 5, a Worp Acoustic 5. Interesting tone was the first priority, and I adjust to most neck configs. However, none of these were very comfortable on a strap, with the Turner and Worp being downright annoying. I don't play sitting down much on stage, so I can't comment on that. But given the trade offs for how the bass sits on your body and the reach and hand position, I'd eventually gave up on the others and settled for the Sandberg TC5 as a nice tradeoff. |

I own one myself!
As a matter of fact I have an endorsement with Sandberg.
I have got a 5 string fretless and it is the very best fretless I have ever heard.
My next bass is going to be a fretted version (see the Sandberg thinline gallery) |

Wonderful Instrument with great playability and singing tone. I was immediately complimented by fellow musicians and audiance, that my new bass sounded wonderful.
