So I just saw the thread of the Ibanez bass on Ebay with a price tag of $4.500 once owned by the Warrant guy Jerry Dixon and got me thinking, Does anybody own or know somebody who owns a famous bass guitar?

The story was that Dusty had sent him the bass because Dusty had felt bad for calling him at 2:00 am and waking him up.

I bought it from Jimmy Haslip - a fantastic and also famous bass player who had it in his personal collection for a few years. |

Is it "famous"? Depends on your definition of fame--the general public could care less about nearly everything that we TBers obsess about. But regardless of your opinion of either the president or Adam Clayton--each a divisive figure in his own right-- it certainly does bear the aroma of history, and it's pretty cool for that reason alone.

I feel dumb for passing it up. I bought an SVT-VR instead which arrived broken. That's probably my closest claim to fame... unless there's a story behind my T-40 which was owned by another TB'er.

| | | | I came across a bass on ebay a while back that was a 67 (I believe) Jazz owned by Electric Ladyland Studios, which would put in the hands of some legendary performers for sure. I couldn't afford it, but some dude now owns it.
