Does Fender have any plans on releasing Squier CV Precisions in different colors?

They have done several runs with the CV telecaster guitars and released numerous colors. Does anyone know if they have plans to do the same with the CV Precision basses? I really want to pick one of these up, but am not a fan of fiesta red or the sonic blue.

Check Ebay for MIM P basses. Chances are you'll get one sooner in the color you like and for less money than it would cost to repaint the Squier CV's. Just my .02

One would hope so. That fiesta red and the now OOP sonic blue were and are reasons I would be reluctant to buy one. I was much less hesitant buying the transparent amber VM P with the maple board and black PG, I love that color scheme. I'm thinking though that maybe the limited color choices might be a part of the reason for the overall low cost of Squiers. I don't know that for a fact, though.

I still think the CV basses are better than the MIM. They are way more consistent and better in my opinion. I have owned a few MIM teles and a few CV/CVC telecasters and the build quality, fit & finish of the Squiers was better than the MIM's. I'd replace the pickups and pots in the CV, and probably replace the pickups in the MIM, but that's off topic and not looking to turn the thread into MIM vs. Squier CV.

That was my original thought as well, but they have really taken off with the CV & CVC telecasters. They come in vintage white, sunburst with double binding, butterscotch, and just released a white body with matching white headstock and black binding and a black body with matching black headstock and white binding.

I think it's time for them to step it up with the basses! But i have read on here that some of the artist model Squiers (like the Matt Freeman model) are basically CV's with more modern frets, which is enticing.
