Dumb, purely aesthetics poll: Bread and butter Precision: White or red?

Totally useless, non-scientific, opinion-based, purely aesthetic poll.

If you had a choice between two color combos and wanted one classic P, which would you pick?

Red ( Candy Cola / Candy Apple Red / Mystic Red, just not that Fiesta crap ) finish, white ( plain / vintage / pearloid ) pickguard;

- or -

White ( Olympic / appliance / whatever ), tortoise ( preferably more red than orange-y ) pickguard.

Oh, already picked a rosewood fretboard.

Not terribly interested in black, sunburst, seafoam, etc., but hey, feel free to give your $0.02 regardless.

Thoughts?

I love the look of a white P with a rosewood board (of course, my trio is butterscotch, fiesta red and sunburst, all with maple boards).

Thanks for the input so far, folks. And no offense intended on the fiesta jab on my part, just not my cup of tea. A bit too pink-y, less of the true, hooker red I'm going for.

White with reddish tort on a RW board!

It's how I roll- goes with all colours of clothes, reflects stage lights well, looks absolutely classic, and doesn't show smudges. And it's TORT!

Black, white or wood. All look great no matter what the stage lighting. Many colors can turn to ugly mud when under uncomplimentary color stage lighting.

If it's between Red or Oly White for a P then I'd go with the white. That Reddish Orange (or is it Orange Red?) doesn't fit that classic simple P bass look that I always envision in my mind when I think of precisions. It's not a bad color, just not something I traditionally associate with that bass. I love that color on Jazz basses or even EBMMs but for precisions I prefer black/white or white/black, preferably with a maple neck.

I said Oly White even though I have a Duck Dunn in CAR/RW that looks killer. I think neutral colors are more versatile. Put a white guard on a white P bass and it's a young Brian Wilson all over again!

Never a red bass for me but I nearly scooped up a Fiesta P with a maple board once. It's the only red I'd ever consider.

I'd go with white. Preferably, i'd have a maple fretboard and a black pickguard. but red tort is great too.

on a dream world I would have one of each

but

I put red for these reasons:
1. the Fade Factor - I have a (previously) white Charvel that is now nicotine yellow, and while I like the mojo that represents, I miss it being the pure white it was when it was new
2. the candy cola red with white pearl PG's are pretty swanky in my opinion. Any of the reds except the Fiesta as you mentioned are quite cool
