Early 80's Original St.Blues King Blues
A friend of mine is a big time St. Blues freak. He told me none were ever made in USA. The 80's ones such as yours were made in Japan under contract for "Strings & Things Music" in Memphis, TN. The early ones were called "Strings & Things Custom" and they later went to the "St. Blues" name. That bass was called a "Blues King" bass. The current ones are made in Korea for the guys that had St. Blues with Strings & Things but are no longer affiliated with the music store. The current ones are called "King Blues" because Gibson had the Blues King name as a registered trademark.
These basses are a very good quality instrument no matter were they were made.
The key to playing bass is not just knowing what to play but what not to play.
