|  | Registered User | | | | | Well the Bongo Sounds Great.. I have one and LOVE it.. I have never heard of the Kit and it looks kind of odd(fake?) to me.. If your Really interested in this Kit, I would Email the link to MM support and ask them about it...

Who knows, as a project it might be fun. As a bass, I suspect you could spend $199 better elsewhere.

It's a bass kit that obviously is supposed to look like a bongo but i woudnt call it fake. It's not as if they're advertising an unassembled and unfinished Musicman Bongo for 200 bucks. |

But, to stay on topic, putting together an instrument can be rewarding and educational. Let's face it, a Precision or Jazz bass is not that complicated and being able to save a few dollars and have the final say in all of the finish details is a pretty cool deal. Same thing for the Bongoish (or is it Bongoesque, or Bogoescent?) kit. If you look on the gallery on the web-site, you can clearly see that one can end up with a truly heirloom quality instrument that could rival anything hanging on a hook at a big box music store.
