Ebay DIY kits

Has anyone put one of these together or played one? THought it might be cool to have something like this. I like the P/MM pickup configuration.

My impression was that (with patience and the willingness to let thigs go if they went too high, and wait for the next one) I could get a better used complete bass, made with better parts, for less money than any of the kits I saw (having been shopping the 'b*y for bass extensively over the last month...) - YMMV, and no, I didn't buy a kit from the bay so I'm just going on my 'b*y smell testing as developed while buying other things there.

Might be worth asking this over in the Luthier's Corner. I think I've read more threads about the different kits over there. Those guys know their stuff when it comes to putting together basses and whatnot.

You can get a kit from eBay or get a Saga kit from Amazon.com.
Cheap, easy way to learn how basses get put together and a good low-cost entry into the hobby. That said, the quality of your build will rely heavily on your skill in finishing/painting because that's the biggest thing you contribute to the build.
