Look at his negative feedback. I'll bet he knew EXACTLY what he was selling.

No Superdick. It takes a fairly specialized knowledge, which you and I might posses. But to expect a guy who calls it "guitar" to have that understanding?? I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt, for the simple reason that things are so much simpler when they grant same to me. The neck plate dated the instrument as that vintage. He's a flea market not an instrument dealer.

I'm puzzled as to why you even created this thread, then.

I'm a total noob and grateful for those who know of such things and who would take the time to post their observations. (I thought the item was fishy, but am not good enough to document my instincts).

Not to be rude or snobby, but he posted the thread to enrich all of our knowledge, and to warn of a fraud. I think it was a good thread.

Like I said, I appreciate it too. I learned a few things to be more aware of.

EDIT: so another thread along these lines has popped up in the last few minutes, and the bass doesn't look suspicious at all to these eyes, so I hope there's more to learn.

To alert people? seems like a rather obvious thing to do. I am more puzzled as to why you felt to write this post.

+1

You started a thread and got mad because people wanted to talk about it.
