No Superdick. It takes a fairly specialized knowledge, which you and I might posses. But to expect a guy who calls it "guitar" to have that understanding?? I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt, for the simple reason that things are so much simpler when they grant same to me. The neck plate dated the instrument as that vintage. He's a flea market not an instrument dealer.

Who cares what low end bass it is, the point is its fake. They didnt have 4 bolt neckplates, or black blocks and binding in '76. The gaurd is missing holes for the thumbrest and the hole in the middle. The decal and tuners are wrong, everything is wrong so pointing it all out is pointless. Its a fake, its not fender anything.

Like I said, I appreciate it too. I learned a few things to be more aware of.

EDIT: so another thread along these lines has popped up in the last few minutes, and the bass doesn't look suspicious at all to these eyes, so I hope there's more to learn.
