EDIT: Little detail here, instead of thinking about getting the "Epiphone Thunderbird Pro-IV", why not the "Thunderbird Classic-IV pro"? It's basically the normal passive epiphone thunderbird, but with the original Gibson pickups.
I have both
A Vintage Sunburst Thunderbird Pro and an
Arctic White Thunderbird Classic.
I mutually swapped their pickguards puttin' the three ply white
from the Arctic White Classic (!) to the Vintage Sunburst Pro, and the three ply black from the Vintage Sunburst Pro to the Arctic White Classic.
But remember, dual band active electronics on the Pro apart, it can also handle downtunin', thanx to its proficient himass bridge (if you happen to play rock/metal) while Thunderbird Classic is a so faithful reproduction of an original Gibson even down a three pivots bridge point of view
