Eric Wilson's new bass?

I was poking around in my local boutique bass shop and noticed this. It apparently belongs to Eric Wilson, has anyone ever seen anything like this before? It has six switches, two for each pick up, giving you full control over what coils in what pick ups are on...

Stanley Clarke was endorsing these for a while, and IIRC they were crazy expensive. Like, five figures expensive.

Are you kidding me? With THAT bridge?
That'd be the first mod, getting rid of that monstrosity!

Perhaps it's less decorative, more functional. Probably a counterweight to prevent neck dive.

And yes, it is dopey...irrespective of the brand name having "Lion" (in German) in it...yes, it's in context...yes, it's dopey looking.

Cool looking bass. Not my thing and not Eric's either since he's selling it. Cool though

Outside of his MusicMan basses, he did play some weird basses over the years.

The Loewenhurtz bass is butt ugly IMO regardless of who owned it.

Seriously thinking about adding lion's heads to all my basses now, though. Hope they don't weigh much.

+1 It wouldn't be for me. But it is unusual, I'll give it that.

I hear Löwenherz are actually 'rethinking' the lions head at the bridge end.
