Hey all - about to pick one of these up pretty cheap new. Just after some opinions. Not many reviews available that I can find.
Also wondering if a Fender scratchplate might fit. I am buying the black/maple version.

I've been wanting a vintage P or PJ for a while that I might slowly mod with Hipshot Ultralite tuners, Dimarzio or SD pickups and would love a tort guard.

I like that bass a whole lot. I love how it looks, it felt pretty awesome too when I played it for around 15-20 minutes at the Music Store a few months ago.

I still kind of want one. This thread isn't helping.

Ha - thanks for the positive feedback. Sorry about the induction of GAS! I guess at least in the States they are down to about $330 US so that doesn't make a massive dent in the bank balance! I've heard good stories about the basses.

I'm also thinking about pulling the trigger on one, looks like good p-bass special option for not much more than a squier.

I went to see a jazz band a few weeks back the sax player in our oldies band plays with,I was zeroed in on the bass the dude had a Mark Bass amp which from playing with and borrowing once or twice they are great amps but not on this thread.Anyway the keyboard had the drums programed in and John on the sax but the bassist was sideways I was craning my neck for a while trying to see if it was a p or a J bass it was sunburst but that was all I could tell.During break I went up to chat with the bassist and see the bass is a ESP which was nice to see,I own a LTD EC bass and I know that I always like to have at least one Fender but this bass was a great sounding instrument.I say get it and enjoy it it is certainly a worthy alternative
