Bump,
you and I have the same basses Yamaha and 5 string old headstock SX bass, mine is fretted. I would like the same pickguard you mentioned also I do know that the fender pg is not a direct fit without mods. And the 4 string and 5 string pickup is the same size so it may be possible to use a 4 string pick guard.

Your best bet is one of the custom pickguard places and have them make a new guard off the old shape. Even replacement SX guards don't always fit the same so buying new SX guards won't necessarily fit right. Very hit or miss.

+1

I put new (really good-looking but all different some were tort) pickguards on all my SX basses. NONE of these guards were identical! Hence you need to get a custom place to exactly copy each one individually. I had bought a couple SX pickguards from Rondo a while back but they were not close enough to fit any of the basses without mods. So I just had new ones copied from the old ones. I used www.Pickguardian.com.

Very happy with results.
