I come to this thread to see SX basses and I see you're still discussing rest/float/pick...
C'mon get a new topic for that already

Okay. Here is one of mine...

SX LPB P,w/ Hipshot Ultralite tuners, Mighty-Mite Jazz neck, Hipshot brass bridge, Seymore Duncan SPB2 pups, Cloth wiring, 500k CTS pots, Fender Barrel knobs, Switchcraft jack, Fender string retainer, bone nut, Fender strap buttons, Fender neck plate, Fender neck screws, MOP pickguard, and converted to string thru...

I don't have picks of my others.

Damn, nice beast! Well...it's got little of the SX itself left, but looks killer with that colour and that bridge!

Thanks! It's my most modded SX...I have a fretless P/J that is modded similarly, but still has the SX tuners (nothing really wrong with them), and the SX neck...BUT I reshaped the neck radius to 9.5" and cut the old-style headstock to more of a 51 Fender shape.

I forgot to mention that the LPB and the fretless are also fully shielded and star grounded, and even the pickguard screws were changed to Fender PG screws.

The body is still SX, and the pickguard is from my SX Ursa ash P, which is still stock except for a pickguard change. Everything else on the LPB has been upgraded/modded.

I have an idea, let's discuss some far less inflammatory subjects, like politics or religion!

I heard Romney and Bain Capital were behind the SX headstock change.

So you defretted it, radiused the board, then refretted? Now THAT'S ambitious!!

I've debate trying it on my Xaviere P that I got from GFS. The neck went ski jump on me within a month, so it has been hanging on the wall ever since. I could probably pull it off, so I may try now that you've planted the idea.

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on this:
SX Ursa 3 JR MN 3TS Short Scale Bass
in the vintage sunburst. Does anyone have one of these in hand? Comments? This would be my first short scale. Currently play a MIM F* Pbass full scale.

I do - my first electric bass. I've bought 4 others since - gretsch, ibanez, squier, and another sx. This one is still my favorite. I really like the tone., holds tuning. I have it strung with GHS flats.

Cool! Especially w/ a skijump, after getting it level and radiused, I would take a few thousandths extra off from the 15th fret on up. It will help give lower action and fight off a return of the ski jump. Sadowsky does it IIRC.

I'll check just to be sure of the exact amount, but I've heard that too. I've never done it to any of my own builds though, at least not knowingly.

And the truss rod won't fix it? Really?
