It's a hobby. Some guys collect cars, or women, or motorcycles, or play golf. My hobby is cheaper, and I enjoy it very much on several different levels: the creative process of music, the fascination with the instrument itself, as a working piece of art, the history behind them, the camaraderie of jamming and playing with others.
I don't NEED just one bass... but I sure enjoy the heck out of assorted ones I do have. |

My main bass gets 90% of the playing time these days. I used to be much more of a bass whore, playing two or three different basses during a gig, but now I've mostly settled down with my #1. I'll bring something else out now and then, but usually not for long. |
