Ever sold a bass then bought one just like it?

I haven't really had GAS in many years. I bought a new Ray34 about six months ago, played it, recorded with it, and liked it okay. I had one issue with it, the G string sounded dead after a while in the mix. Someone made me a decent offer on it, and I sold it.

I have been gassing like a fool to get another one.

Anyone else been in the same boat?

I sold this bass and bought it back a few years later. There's none "just like it".

I'd like to have the Sadowsky RV4 in Seafoam green I traded a while back. Don't remember who to, but I'd like it back.

I have had the same bass more than twice. I'm an idiot.

P basses. Love em, sell em for some stupid reason, buy another, cycle repeats. I'm on my 4th P bass which is the most of any single model bass I've owned.

I have over the years bought and sold

(2) Red Hohner 4 string Steinberger copies
(2) Walnut Hohner 5 string Steinberger copies
(2) Fireburst Steinberger Spirit 5 string basses (still have the 2nd)

I have also bought and sold

(2) Memory Moog Pluses &
(3) Moog Sources

...so it doesn't seem to be a disease linked specifically to bass gear....

Yes, I have done it, and looking myself in the mirror, I realize just how stupid GAS is and how stupid I can be.

I sold a G&L SB2 back in the mid 90's. Dumb dumb dumb. I've been thinking lately that I can actually afford to replace that bad boy, and I might just to it.

I started the year with a HW1 jazz as my only gigging bass, sold it (brought a Ray34 funnily enough), sold that and have just got a HW-one Jazz which will last me at least until the end of the year.
Ive also owned two Lakland skyline Duck Dunn's in the past 3 years.

YES!!! I had a 1988 Ric 4003 that I really liked but the tone wasnt exactly what I was expecting. Someone offered me a good price to buy it and I made a decent buck so I sold it. Im a day or two from pulling the trigger on another 4003 here on TB.

Yep, many times. I have had a few Sadowskys, and every time I sell one I wonder what I was thinking a few weeks later. Just picked up another. I think I better force myself to keep it...

I've done it with basses, amps, effects, everything.

I'm actually so fed up and confused I have both my basses for sale. I'm ready to sell it all and start over with stuff I've never used or thought I'd never use. My amp is probably up for sale next.

Don't know what my thing is any more. Jazz, modern, tube, SS, etc.

Years ago I had an Ibanez SR400 that I loved. Got a new bass so I sold it. Regretted it right away. Finally found another one I like years later so I bought it. Then in a stroke of stupidity, I sold that one, too!!

Next time, I'll be sure to keep it no matter what.

I have had 5 Stingray 4's. I've got the one I am keeping, a 4H. I have also bought and sold the same bass twice which was not a Stingray! Oh I forgot I have also had at least 3 P-basses, finally got brand new MIA this year and I am keeping that one too.
