Everytime I go to GC it's the same

I pickup shecters, yamahas, ernie balls, none of them do it for me.

I pick up some Fenders, they rock, especially the American ones.

Then I pickup an Ibanez soundgear and wonder why I would play anything else...

I need to get another one of those some day soon.

The EBMMs are notorious for having NASTY DEAD strings on them, even if its a bass they just got. I don't like Scecters and I normally don't see very few yammys. Fenders are good. Soundgear is hit or miss. But I go to check out the used gear. The used ones I've played before: Ibby ATK (ended up buying it), various wicks, some really really schweet yammy, 80s mij pbass, and lots of others.

Also I like my GCs selection of new wicks

The used gear and clearance section is the best part of any given GC.

Of course! The ATK is about as far from "skinny and tight spaced" as you can get. Which is why I sarcastically threw that in there.

It's not funny when I has to explain it.

No worries, sarcarsm NEVER flies straight on the interwebs.

King Razor, what about the Ibanez basses stands out for you above all the rest?

Got my Fender fix, well except I wanna 60th anniversary Telecaster. It would be cool to score on a 'Ray one of these days...for a tonal head check. GC is always nice for a good MM selection.

Yeah I think it's unfortunate that I've only ever tried poorly setup EBMM basses. I think that GC has had the same 5 on the wall for years.

The higher end SR basses (500 and 700 series) are so light and ergonomically shaped. Then you plug it in and pluck a string and you can just feel the power. Every note reverberates through your body. Sadly the SR700 I played that day had what seemed like a dead spot on the 7th fret of the A string (odd spot for one).
