That is beer, by the way, of course
To everyone now, I really like all your Explorers ! They're truly awesome guitars. And I'm proud to be part of the gang.

ALso any recommendations on pickup replacements? What I think I want to hear is more low-mid growl and high-end zing...not so much mudd.
This is the bass on which I managed to dis-locate my thumb mid-song - and my thumb is double jointed to begin-with! I just whacked it back into position on the body of the bass!
Regards,

It's also a really uninteresting flat sounding bass. give me a Fender and a good amp and it's make a mockery of it any day.

As you can see, it's matte black, and I ****ing love that (For clarification, the tele with the FR on the other bloke is an custom Valley Arts)
And my old LTD E-104. This didn't last long. |

| | | | That may be the most awesome Explorer I've seen.
Anyway, mine is a Black/White pickguard, Gibson/Epiphone headstock, gold bridge, knobs, tuners. Plays great with a pick, and feels very natural. Trying to obtain a vintage Gibson-not easy to find.....

was routed for MM pickup in the sweet spot and drilled for string through/Badass III.
i'm thinking of going with the SD SMB-4d with the STC-3M4 preamp with 18v.
Ill be using a neck from a squire VM Jazz
the body is unpainted so i'm thinking a white to blueburst (almost reverse caribeanburst) and trying to lay some faux carbon fiber sheets somewhere in there under a top/clear coat.
