I've never seen a German Warwick with that style serial number before. Every one I've seen has been stamped. There's a serial number decoder on the Warwick site somewhere that will help. |

Between 1989 and 2007 it was engraved on the back of the headstock between the machine heads. Towards the end of 2007 we started engraving the serial number by laser technique on the back of the headstock below the machine heads. "

The Warwicks I have (and have had) always got a nice rub down once a week for the first 6 mths - year of their lives. Think of a surf board...once you build it up, you don't have to do it as frequently. |

If you have a 'natural oil finish' you can treat it with beeswax which will darken the appearance. But if its a "colored oil / satin finish" then you just wipe it down, the colour is sealed behind the finish.
Sure looks like the real deal to me... |

| | | | You're not supposed to use wax on the coloured oil finishes, just the natural.
Warwick recommends 'dunlop no. 65' guitar polish for coloured oil.
Also there's no way that's a fake |

| | | | i can use the beeswax to clean my neck and fretboard correct?
but for the body use that dunlop for colored finshes?

I could be wrong, but you should double check that before you put any wax on it. |

When did these start getting made in Korea? Not saying that the Korean ones have weak finishes, just wondering when the changeover was?

No brass frets, Controls drilled differently, and the Inlays are off. Would have bought it, if it would have stayed at about 50 bucks.

Waxing that body and neck is a huge no-no.
Regular polish on the body. Regular lemon oil for the neck. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
