I recently FOUND this fake ric, as my neighbour was about to throw it in the garbage. Do any of you have an idea what brand/make it is? I'm TRYING to post some pics, but they seem to be to big.
The trus rod cover is missing, there are no names or numbers anywhere on the instrument, and the print on the double jack output says STEREO SOUND and STANDARD (instead of RIC-O-SOUND on the original.) Other details: Checkered binding (NOT under the tail piece = just like on a real RIC), neck thru, single trus rod. Could this possibly be a 1977/78 ELECTRA CORSAIR 2229? Any other ideas? |

Yes, pictures would be extremely helpful.
PS almost ALL Rick copies say "Stereo Sound" and "Standard" if they are 2 output affairs.

Did some googling and I think it might be an El Degas 4001 copy here is a link with the info I found. http://www.eldegas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=111

Interesting pics of the El Degas bass. Very much like my bass, but without binding and with different tuners. |

I thought you were offended that this forum thinks that a fake bass is cool and I thought you were an uptight prick. Glad to know what you're not . |

| | | | That's an Ibanez copy - the givaways are the checkerboard binding, glitter fretboard inlays, and the thumbrest on the pickguard.
They made two versions - one with a through-neck and one with a bolt-on neck. |

I once drove down a road and seen a small tool box out at the garbage so i picked it up opened it and found a $800 Montblanc ink pen inside. Just keep your eyes open and things will come to you! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
