Fake Rickenbacker 4001, help!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all

I recently bought a Rickenbacker copy, i have no real idea what it could be, i knows its japanese and i think its a 1970's one. someone has hand written the "Rickenbacker" logo onto the headstock on put some sticky back plastic on it, i have since removed this and it is a plain truss cover so i have no idea. Can anyone help?

Here the link with all the photos on: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

It looks like a univox stereo bass to me. I'm not entirely sure though.

My Ibanez was much different from that one and was a '77. It was also branded as an Ibanez. I'd guess it's not an Ibanez.

I think Ibanez has the binding on the body but am not 100% sure. Anyway looks like a very good copy. Congratulations.

im very happy with it, its a lovely guitar, about the right weight and really good sound, the bloke hadnt played it or restrung it since 93 when he bought it. i cant believe how close the playability is to a real Ric especially being a bolt on to be honest, i know it has a double truss rod though.
