There is an obligatory Jazz in there!

2meterbassman 03-11-2013 12:31 AM

I suspect you're playing Jazz or Folk? ;-)

I was going to say country or bluegrass....:D

Nice IronBird, btw. You don't see those too often.

mournblade 03-11-2013 12:39 AM

LOL, I do play Bach's Bouree on the Rich's, does that count?

Thanks, just got the Ironbird on Friday. It is spiky and plays really nice, great tone!

That Warlock is too cool. Do you know what year?

mournblade 03-11-2013 12:47 AM

1984 Warlock II, currently in the process of being cleaned and adjusted, it is that time of the year.

NOT 03-11-2013 12:50 AM

I've always loved the look of the Warlocks with the reverse headstock. Reminds me of Motley Crue's SATD era..

mournblade 03-11-2013 12:55 AM

That album is why I play bass. I was 13 and thought Nikki and that black TJ Mockingbird were too cool. Then I saw the Warlock in the "Too young To Fall In Love" video and was hooked.

hsech 03-11-2013 01:01 AM

Very nice family photo indeed.

NOT 03-11-2013 01:02 AM

I had a similar experience. I was 13 when I saw Nikki Sixx's legs on fire in the "Live Wire" music video and decided I wanted to be a musician. Haha.

mournblade 03-11-2013 01:06 AM

LOL yeah that was a cool video. I actually didn't discover Too Fast For Love until after SATD was out. First song I learned was Looks That Kill. Man, I thought I was hot stuff playing that song on my Fender Squier Bullet Bass; biggest gift my Dad ever personally bought me. Wish I still had it for sentimental reasons, if nothing else.

NOT 03-11-2013 01:17 AM

Yeah, after I discovered Motley Crue, I bought a Squier Strat. Didn't like it, and
traded it for a beat up Fender Duff Mckagan bass. The day I got that bass I learned how to play "B@st@rd" and "Ten Seconds to Love".

I always liked the 4 in-line reverse headstock like yours. I had to settle for a tombstone styel 2 + 2 but at least it's the right color, all Warlocks should be black. :D

That's a beautiful family you have there!

There really needs to be a Sticky thread where we can post pictures of our bass collections.

:hiding:

my most favprite is the Gibson....great color!

reminds me of the days when I started plying as well. You were cool if you had a real Fender...but you were a star if you had the BC Rich stuff.

Oh trust me, I am FAR from embarrased. That was an attempt (not a bad one if I do say so) at a pun.
I love those instruments, the white mock especially has the lowest action I have ever played without buzzing. It is litterally less 1/16th of an inch at the 24th fret, and no fret buzz. Plus, it sounds like the bass of the horseman of the apocolypse, such a great tone with the BL in the bridge.
