Faulty Fender Bass Gear?
 

I had to replace the pickup on a year-old Am Std P Bass last week (Fender couldn't get it together, so I purchased replacement). While my bass was in the shop (it's already back with a shot pot), I found a sweet playing MIM P Bass at the local GC. Plugged it in—bad pickup (GC wouldn't allow me to put down a deposit to hold it, so after it was fixed, it was sold to someone else). I noticed in a 2011 SEC filing (listed here on TB) that Fender acknowledged major problems with their suppliers due to faulty parts. I'm curious, how many others on TB have experienced defective Fender bass gear in the past year or two? What kind of problem? Was it resolved to your satisfaction?
