In a double cutaway style 4 or 5 sting. Spalted Maple is my choice. Double cutaway 6 string, I'll take Birdseye Maple. For a single cut 6'er I'll want Buckeye Burl.

I know that's awfully specific, but I really believe that certain body styles look different with woods. Just my .02

I like spalted maple, but my favorite is probably flamed koa.

This too would be my inclination. I, first, would prefer something that served the instrument and it's longevity...

Having said that, some of those wood samples are quite beautiful...

But I will just play my plain jane mahogany. Good enough for me...Maybe. ;-)
