Not bad, but I'm not going to cough up $125 for shipping. That's crazy!

This has been doing the rounds for years... I'll say again... gold sparkle is for drum kits only... old ones.

This guy will never sell this thing...and apparently he doesn't want to...

Although I'd swear, last time I saw it posted on Ebay, it had a no-reserve auction.

I wonder if the seller flaked on the deal...

Yeah, I've seen it a couple of times before, but at a lower price so you got to question the sellers strategy here...
I didn't manage to sell it for 30 000 something last time.. hmm
lets add 18 000, that ought to get someones attention.

Maybe it' just a "show off piece" and he really just wants peoples reaction... sure seems that way.

I think we've had about 20 threads about this eBay posting.

He's been posting it for years now.

No.

Fender did do custom one-off sparkle finishes. I've played a 1959 strat with a chartreuse sparkle finish that was factory done in 61-ish. There was even a paper trail of documentation. They're out there.

Well, at the very least he does show you every last nook and cranny of the instrument, which is cool. Please excuse this noob, but what is the purpose of putting it under the black light? Would that expose past refins?

It would show overspray.

This bass has been posted on tb for as long as i can remember. Its a cool bass but something seems sketchy why he would hide the serial number. Im thinking its a parts bass or something because if you want a vintage bass to sell you need a way so the buyer can look up and accurately tell the date it was made.

The serial cover up is suspect as well as the fact that the neck pocket is painted, which hides the date of the body. I'm wondering if it's a 64 neck and possibly hardware/electronics with a replacement body.
