Fender 2009 Bass finishes

Since these have thinner undercoats of finish, will they evetually wear down like older basses? I know it is not as thin as the nitro stuff but it doesn't seem bullet proof.

I think in time they should. I have a 2008 MIA Fender Precision in Olympic White and its starting to yellow and fade in some areas. They also ding and scratch pretty easy which I don't mind the wearing of the bass. The body on mine is extremely resonant as well. I'm not sure if the thinner undercoat is contributing to this but they are great basses.
