Fender 2010 American Standard w. outboard Premap vs. Deluxe

Sign in to disble this ad
Quick question: Sound-wise, could I achieve the sound of a deluxe Jazz bass with an American Standard plus an outboard preamp? I really like the idea of not having the bass be the single point of failure, and if I get tired of the active sound I still have the solid passive bass.

thanks

What do you mean the single point of failure?

If you used a Fender Deluxe preamp, then yes you could get extremely close to that sound. Audere, Aggy, etc...prob not as close.

I mean, if the electronics fail the bass would still be usable .

The Am. Deluxe can be run in passive... Via a two-way toggle switch on the P/G.
