Fender 60 re issue jazz thoughts?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm currently considering buying a Fender 60 re issue jazz bass.

I was looking at the current Fender custom shop 60 re issues and can pick one up as low as $2300 brand new....

However, I have seen a post here from a member selling an 83 Fullerton re issue 60 Jazz bass in very good condition for $2100.

having seen that one I've been checking around, mainly ebay and see the early 80's fullerton re issues are being listed for higher amounts...

My question is....Are there any advantages over an early 80's re issue of a 60's bass compared to just buying a custom shop re issue....

Is there really going to be much difference except for the age of the bass???

If I was spending that sort of money I would want to try out the bass for quite a long time before I parted with the cash. There are some great basses out there and some so-so basses.
