Fender 60th anniversary P bass discontinued?

I don't see it on the Fender site so i assume it's discontinued. Anyone know when this came about? Now I am thinking maybe I shoud hang on to the one I have posted in the classifieds

I would imagine the P bass official release was 1951. So perhaps the 60th Anniversary bass was only made in (hang on..... let me take my shoes off so I can count higher) 2011?

Yeah well no shi*, but the bass was listed on the Fender site only weeks ago. Thanks for the helpful reply though.

Calm down. I was just razzin you a bit. But (and I am just guessing here) they probably kept it up there until they sold through the ones they had made (or most dealers sold through the ones they had in stock). But it wouldn't make much sense to make an anniversary bass during any year other than the anniversary year. But that's just my trying to inject logic into the conversation.

I have a 60th anniversary P as well and I will new sell it.

Someone else will figure out what to do with it after I'm gone.

Darn. I really wanted one of these. I guess if I'm gonna get one it better be fast.

Check (I hate to say this) Guitar Center's website, there's plenty of them still hanging around.

Fender has been doing this a lot since 2009.
Short runs of instruments, for one year.
It is an incentive to buy one fast before they are gone.

Maybe they hope to get us focused on the new 58 and 63 reissues...

Just think. When we're all old geezers, we will be chuckling about the new Fender 1987 reissues.

Not seeing them at GC/MF/ZZounds or Sweetwater - I think they are sold out.

I know for a fact that GC in Orange, CA. Had one in store. I believe Rancho Cucamonga has one, also.

It will be a disheartening day when they make a vintage reissue of a bass I could have bought new.

Hello Music still has some for $1150. Might be the last chance to find a brand-new one at that price!

I'll feel worse when I see a 2008 Am. Std. RI.

Then I'll KNOW they have no idea what they're doing.
