Totally. I actually have my Dillion copy set up to look a lot like that.

My next bass build is going to be a slab body SCPB. I love my Dillion but I really want one with the contours.

Are all of these basses bare wood on the inside of the cavity?

I had noise problems when I first got mine, but after I opened it up and shielded it, it's dead silent.
Until you shield it, plan on keeping your hands on the strings.

I think the contours would be good. Still love the look....

Yeah, it's still cool with the contours, I just want a P of every style.

When the Hill bass arrived my wife and one of my daughters were at home and inquired why I had purchased such a beat up looking instrument ("ha ha, must have gotten a good deal on that one dad"). Much eye rolling and laughter ensues after I explain this is a Fender Custom Shop instrument that someone worked very hard on to achieve the relic look.

Dillion 5204. It's a cheapie, in line with the Squier I would guess. I've had it for about a year. It's had the same set of Chromes since the day it arrived. Pretty good bass. It gets a lot of playtime.

I'd be very much ok if you posted some more pix of it. It's on my "no way I can afford but lust after anyway" list. I'm planning on modeling my SCPB build after it. I might even add the relicing.

i've experienced some noise problems with mine out of the box. solved messing around with pickup height, the noise gone with just lowering the "E" and "A" pickup, slighty angled on the "E." hope it works for you too.
(sorry the english).

I thought the buzz just proved it was an authentic Fender P-bass....

Hey G,

Did you ever track down the noise problem and/or did shielding help? Mine has 'developed' noise that I hadn't noticed before, opened it up and can't see anything loose or abnormal going on...???

Haven't had the time to get around to shielding the electronics cavity. It's on my To Do list. For now, I just try to keep my fingers on the strings to silence the noise.

If find any bad ground wiring please share so I know what to keep an eye out for.

Well, it looks like I'm back in the fold. I've had sellers' remorse ever since selling my blonde 60th. Spotted this sunburst one in the Classifieds and pulled the trigger. Sometimes I think I have a sickness...

Thanks Jim. I love the blondes, but couldn't pass this one up. The only thing I don't care for on these bursts is that I wish they had a vintage tint on the neck/board. I'm considering getting that done to this one since I have no plans to make the same mistake twice (selling it)!

Same here. Got my blonde last January. Would've gotten burst if I'd have known about it.
