Fender 70's Jazz reissue - gas attack

Anyway, I usually rely on my ears and feel when buying a bass but a local GC has a sunburst model on clearance for $620.00 and the devil on my shoulder is yelling in my ear to grab it.
Any strong opinions on these basses as far as quality?
