wonder where this thing was forgotten??

Fender 70's Precision Electric Bass and more 4 String Electric Bass at GuitarCenter.com.

this is not even on the fender website. and it doesn't appear to be part of the modern players series. perhaps a little buddy to go along with the 70's jazz?

*oh and for the record, i could not find another thread on this already.

this thing is on the fender site. it's just hidden a bit....
FenderŪ Products

Whoever is doing their site design did not specify the path correctly. you can't find it under pbasses. you have to "view all" basses, then select the "classic" series from the tree on the left. good find at $528 though. ive usually seen it for 849 with free shipping (sam ash, etc..) or 799 plus shipping (various smaller sites)

not at all, sir! These were selling for $849. The $528 price tag that GC is offering is quite a bargain. That's cheaper than what a new MIM goes for. This is a great price for a CIJ P!

I've had one for around 5 years as and never really loved it. it plays well, but the pickup lacked the midrange bark that I associate with a P. switched it out for a 1/4 pounder in the summer and it has become my main bass. This price is a steal.

Are you sure? This particular model has only just been released. (Here in the USA anyway).

I hope the new 70's basses are, on the whole, better than the ones they sold in the 70's.

Not an era to be proud of.

Wow, talk about a screw job. I bought mine roughly four weeks ago (give or take), paid the much higher price; and now it's going for $528.00?

In my personal experience, I would disagree. I had a '78 P-bass that was about as good as it gets. And from all I've read here on TB, I'm not the only one who's had a good experience with 70's Fenders. I believe the bad rap they get is largely undeserved. Just curious, how many 70's Fenders have you tried?

I saw that too, but he doesn't really say much about the bass except that he likes it.

Don't forget to use the coupon. $528 - $75 = $453

Are you sure these are CIJ? I could have sworn these are MIM, like the 70s Jazz is MIM.
